Peace of Cake

Het Blijbedrijf - a Dutch company - organised a campaign in the streets of Holland called
'Peace of Cake'

Groups of volunteers called De Blijbrigade (The Happy Brigade) from all over the country are involved in so many actions. You can become a 'Happy Brigade' as well if you like. The website explains how it all works

Do you want to say sorry to someone in a funny way ?
bake a peace cake and give it to the person you want to make peace with :)

'Peace of Cake' on the radio

Listen to a reportage of the campaign 'Peace of Cake' in Amsterdam at the Noordermarkt
It's funny to hear the reactions of the dutch people :)
As the volunteer introduces herself and explains 'what is De Blijbrigade' people start to giggle just by hearing the name (like me)
and people really appreciate the happy initiative.

As the reportage is in Dutch I will tell you here a bit in english:
The Happy Brigade volunteers speak with people in the streets asking them if maybe at the moment  they like to say sorry to someone. If so, the happy brigade explains how the 'Peace of Cake' action can help to make it up with someone in a funny way: First of all 'a peace of cake picture' is taken and this will be sent by email to the counterparty. On top of this the happy brigade offers the ingredients to bake a 'peace cake'  for the counterparty. A piece of cake to say sorry or make peace again. One person in the streets said he was not involved in an argument or whatsoever right now but still would like to cooperate because he loved the idea so much and if necessary one time in the future he would love to bake a Peace Cake :)
